ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Debra Shriver is an Alabama native and a 12th generation Southerner. She and her husband reside in New York City and the Vieux Carre, New Orleans, with their two dogs, Ella and Louis. She is an admitted Francophile, an avid photography collector, a devotee of jazz, and a passionate preservationist. Shriver, chief communications officer for Hearst Corporation in New York City, sits on the boards of the New Orleans Museum of Art, the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, and the Apollo Theater Foundation in Harlem. She has never been the Queen of Mardi Gras, but is ever hopeful. This is her first book. Ms Shriver has been responsible for many features showcasing New Orleans and how the city is recovering from Katrina in such Hearst publications as Town & Country.
